My Pretty Wreath
I realize me showing off my new stuff is kind of like a toothy seven year old that parades every new thing in front of Grandma and Grandpa when they come to visit. But my new wreath is too pretty to not share. I asked for this as my anniversary gift (yes, I love it that much). It is made of wood curled up to look like roses with dried leaves tucked here and there. Yay Target!
Couches
Jane had woken up too early... again. My dishevled bun walked with her downstairs, flipped on Max and Ruby and curled up on our sagging leather couch. By some miracle I fell asleep. When I woke up an hour later (from Jane nestling her pee-filled diaper against me and trying to use my face as a backrest) I had a silver dollar sized bruise on my hip from the couch springs. A lovely, black, purple and red one. Nasty. Mike and I went couch shopping that afternoon.
We LOVE the ones we found. I struggled a bit with the coffee table and end tables. I felt like I was aging myself three generations just by picking them out (they're not the "hip" dark wood and clean lines), but with the President's Days sale they were having they were nearly free, and our coffee table and end table at home were trashed, so Tony rang them up for us. I thought it was odd that as we were leaving the store, Mike kept throwing himself in front of me while we walked past the display of the Living Room set we had just bought. Ends up that a couple in their 70's was checking out "our" Living Room. Mike didn't want me to have any more ammunition that we had bought "old people" furniture. Too late. I saw the couple.
I tried younging it up with some funky lamps (that came with the Living Room too) and some throw pillows (is it lame that I asked for those as part of my anniversary present?). And wah-lah.... our new living room.

And this morning... one day after getting them, I put a scratch in the coffee table sliding the laptop onto it. Argh!

Winger’s Amazing Sauce Knock-off
Ingredients
1 1/2 C. Brown Sugar
4 Tbsp. water
4 Tbsp. honey
6 tbsp. Franks Red Hot Wings Buffalo hot sauce- you can add more if you like a lot of heat. And Yes…it has to be Franks.
8-10 Chicken wings or Strips
After removing chicken from oven, place chicken in sauce and coat thoroughly; remove with a slotted spoon and place onto cookie sheet (covered with foil). Return coated chicken to oven and bake at 350 degrees for about 5 minutes.
Remove and enjoy!
Directions: Cook chicken according to package directions. While chicken is baking, combine sugar, water, honey and hot sauce in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil over medium heat. Continue boiling for about 5 to 10 minutes to ensure sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE from Jenner: (Beware... mine came out a little heavy on the honey taste, but I think I added too much because of adding it tablespoon by tablespoon... you know that sticky overflow that happens. I added a tablespoon more hot sauce to correct it and it was great. I think I also boiled mine too long... mine was like syrup almost...still tasty). YUM!!!

Happy Birthday, Macy!
The girl has a smile that sparkles, loves to share (put the mint girl scout cookies Cole gave her for her birthday in a bowl to share with all of us... couldn't stand the idea of us not getting to enjoy them too). Is STU-bborn (guess that's a good thing if she's making good choices. Peer pressure won't be much of an issue). Macy also LOVES chocolate glazed donuts with sprinkles. She wanted a "Texas-sized" donut for her birthday cake. Since her birthday is today (on Sunday), we bought the donut as a treat on Saturday and then made a "donut" cake for her real birthday! Funny girl.
Happy Birthday! We love you!
SNOW... Snow... snow
It snowed in Austin. A whoppin' inch and the city shut down! Here's some pics of what got Mike and the kids out of school (even shut Old Navy down).

Cole steals the show
This is a video from YEARS ago. Still cracks me up. Cole was trying to open a box of raisins, Ali was trying to dance for the camera. Cole gave up on the raisins and stole the show. Nice moves, Cole!
